This cookie policy explains in what manner Mediahuis Group uses Cookies on a website or (mobile) application offered or operated by a Mediahuis Entity.

The cookie policy may be modified from time to time. Only the most recent version is applicable to the use of the Mediahuis domain.

1. Definitions

Recommended Content : recommendations for articles, ads, job offers and other information which a Mediahuis entity aligns with the interests of the User (based on the Clicking Behaviour) or a Registered User (based on the Clicking Behaviour and Registered Data).

Device : your computer, tablet, smartphone, or other device with which you visit a Mediahuis Domain.

Cookies : text files or other files and similar technologies which store or consult information on your Device, as further explained hereinafter in Section 1.

Service : news, adverts, functionality for a better user experience, (mobile) apps, Recommended Content or Personalized Adverts which a Mediahuis Entity supplies or provides on or through a Mediahuis Domain. User : you who visits a Mediahuis Domain to enjoy a Service as a consumer. This can be directly through our websites or after the installation of one of our apps.

Personalized Adverts : commercial content which is aligned with the interests of a User (based on the Clicking Behavior) or a Registered User (based on the Clicking Behavior and Registered Data).

Clicking Behavior : the interests of a User which are derived from Cookies and similar technologies based upon the usage of a Service on a Mediahuis Domain and on visits and interaction on websites of third parties. Clicking Behaviour entails predominantly:

Mediahuis Group: the whole of the Mediahuis Entities.

Mediahuis Entity: the legal entity within the Mediahuis Group which offers/provides a Service. See here for an overview of the different Mediahuis Entities .

The actual cookies are small files which by using Mediahuis Domains are put on your device and/or read from your Device.

If you choose to use the Services, you enter into an agreement with the responsible Mediahuis Entity and you accept the conditions.

You do not have to pay for the available Services. However, by way of compensation for the free Services, the responsible Mediahuis Entity gets access to your Clicking Behaviour and Registered Data. Your Clicking Behaviour and Registered Data are also necessary for the provision of certain Services such as Recommended Content and Personalized Adverts.

These Cookies allow you to log in to your accounts at social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn and share content from our Domains, or share certain content from a Mediahuis Domain on social media (features such as share, like, etc.). These cookies do not give us access to your social media accounts or the data you keep within them.

The Mediahuis Domains Jobat.be, Zimmo.be and Hebbes.be use the Facebook pixel. If you are looking for a job, home or car on our classified sites, this pixel allows us to share additional relevant search results on Facebook.

The use or interaction with social media buttons or functions is subject to the social media channel’s own rules – no Mediahuis Entity has any influence over this.
